The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos, AIG Margaret Ochalla, has led a humanitarian outreach to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yaba, and Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos, reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to compassion and community service.
The outreach, held on Friday, January 9, 2026, focused on supporting indigent patients through the donation of essential items and the settlement of outstanding medical bills, offering relief and renewed hope to affected families.
Speaking during the visit, AIG Ochalla stressed that policing extends beyond crime control to include humanity, empathy, and service to the people, noting that the Police must consistently act in ways that improve citizens’ wellbeing.
She explained that the initiative aligns with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, which emphasizes professionalism, community engagement, and the strengthening of public trust in the Force.
Management and staff of the medical facilities commended the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, and applauded the Police for demonstrating genuine concern beyond their statutory duties.
The FCID Annex, Lagos, reaffirmed its resolve to sustain initiatives that promote public confidence, cooperation, and a safer, more compassionate society.
