The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised the alarm over the circulation of fraudulent online links and social media platforms falsely claiming to be the party’s official membership registration portals.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party said it had not opened any online membership registration platform, warning Nigerians to disregard all links currently being circulated.
The statement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who described the development as a deliberate attempt to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“There is no official ADC registration link or website open at the moment. All links currently circulating should be completely disregarded,” Abdullahi said.
He stressed that the party had not authorised any individual or group to conduct membership registration online or offline at this time.
According to him, the ADC is still in the process of developing a secure and verifiable membership registration and validation platform, which will be formally unveiled through official party channels.
“ADC has not launched any public online membership registration link. When we do, it will be communicated clearly through verified party platforms and formal statements from the leadership,” he stated.
Abdullahi further warned that the party would never request payments or sensitive personal information such as Permanent Voter’s Card details, Bank Verification Numbers, or phone numbers through unofficial links.
“The ADC will never request payments or sensitive personal information via WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites,” he said.
He urged members of the public to exercise caution, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and refrain from sharing unverified registration messages.
Abdullahi also called on Nigerians to report any suspicious links or platforms to the party through its official communication channels.
“The ADC is actively addressing this issue and will take all necessary steps to protect the public and preserve the integrity of the party,” he assured.
