The Association of Models Nigeria has entered discussions with Prison Fellowship USA to deepen collaboration on correctional system reforms in Nigeria.
The talks followed a courtesy visit by Dr. David Olatubosun Alabi, Senior Director of Correctional Programs at Prison Fellowship USA, to the AMN President, Deji Bakare, in Lagos.
In a statement signed by Bakare, he said the visit came shortly after Dr. Alabi toured the Abuja Correctional Centre.
According to him, the Abuja visit was part of efforts to assess prison conditions and identify areas for impactful reform.
Bakare said both organisations discussed strategies to strengthen the Hope Beyond Walls initiative.
He noted that Dr. Alabi expressed commitment to rehabilitation, reintegration and capacity building for inmates.
The Prison Fellowship USA official also disclosed plans to train correctional warders to improve safety and professionalism.
Bakare said international and local partners would be engaged to address long-standing challenges in correctional centres.
Speaking on behalf of AMN, Bakare expressed appreciation for the partnership.
“We remain committed to advocacy and rehabilitation programmes that promote dignity and reform,” he said.
He described the visit as a milestone in international cooperation on prison reform.
