The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Zone 2 Command, has launched a significant empowerment initiative targeting women and youths across Lagos and Ogun States. Organized in partnership with the Chioma Emmanuel Global Ministry, the program focused on fostering economic self-reliance through practical skill acquisition.
The vocational training covered a diverse range of crafts, including:

Soap and insecticide production

Shoemaking and bag making

Makeup artistry and bead making
Beyond manual skills, the curriculum included essential workshops on financial literacy and small business management. To ensure the training led to immediate action, several participants were provided with start-up capital upon completion of the one-day session at the MD Abubakar Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.
During the event, Mrs. Adekemi Fayoade, the POWA Coordinator for Zone 2, emphasized that the initiative’s core purpose was economic transformation.
“Our goal is to create a supportive environment that motivates women and youths to take full charge of their lives,” she stated.
Mrs. Fayoade also shared a goodwill message from the National POWA President, Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Egbetokun, and expressed her gratitude to the Chioma Emmanuel Global Ministry for their collaborative efforts. She reaffirmed POWA’s commitment to supporting programs that deliver tangible results for the community.
In her remarks, Prophetess Chioma Emmanuel thanked POWA Zone 2 for the partnership, noting that her ministry remains dedicated to projects that uplift individuals and promote financial independence.
The association concluded by stating it will continue to seek out credible organizations to further community development and sustainable empowerment.
