The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man suspected to be a cultist and recovered a rubber-made pistol, axe, criminal charms and a substance suspected to be the illicit drug known as “Ice” during an intelligence-led operation in Ikorodu.
The suspect, identified as Muyideen Olatunbosun, ‘m’, was arrested while police operatives were conducting an anti-crime patrol around the Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu.
According to the Command, the arrest followed information received by the operatives during the patrol. A search of Olatunbosun allegedly led to the recovery of one rubber-made pistol, one axe, criminal charms and the suspected illicit drug.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators with the ongoing investigation, while efforts are being made to identify and arrest other members of his alleged cult group.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to the information that led to the arrest.
CP Tijani Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led operations against cultism and other forms of criminality across Lagos State.
