The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Saturday attended the 70th posthumous birthday remembrance of former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, in recognition of his enduring contributions to policing and national service.
The event, attended by the IGP alongside his wife, Mrs. Olufumilola Mutiat Disu, brought together retired and serving senior police officers, family members, associates, and other distinguished guests to celebrate the life and legacy of the late police chief.
Among those present were Jonathan Towuru, Fatai Owoseni, and Bolo Etete, who joined others in paying tribute to Arase’s remarkable service and professional achievements.
The gathering provided an opportunity for reflection on Arase’s impactful career in the Nigeria Police Force, particularly his contributions to policing reforms, institutional development, and efforts aimed at strengthening professionalism within the Force.
Participants described the late former IGP as a visionary leader whose legacy continues to inspire officers and shape policing standards across Nigeria. His contributions to national security and public service, they noted, remain a reference point in the ongoing quest for a more effective and accountable police institution.
