The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, identified as Edebiri Temitope, in connection with the death of 38-year-old Oje Michael Eje in Mowe, Ogun State.
Temitope, who was earlier reported to be at large, was arrested by the Police in connection with the incident involving Eje.
The suspect has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
Eje, a university graduate who reportedly held a degree in Guidance and Counselling, was said to have died following an alleged altercation with the suspect.
Earlier reports had alleged that Eje was beaten after he was accused of hugging and playing with the suspect’s three-year-old child.
The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the cause of Eje’s death and the events leading to it, are expected to form part of the ongoing investigation by the Police.
The arrest of Temitope marks a development in the investigation, as detectives at the State CID continue efforts to establish what transpired and determine the appropriate legal action.
The Police are expected to make further findings public as the investigation progresses.
