— Let Him Take Nigerian Basketball Back To The Top- Abdullah Bello
By Charles Edet, Esq., Fcr.
When the clock is running down and victory requires experience, courage and precision, every basketball team knows the answer, give the ball to the player who can deliver.
For Nigerian basketball, that man could be Ejike Ugboaja.
Ugboaja understands basketball beyond administration. He has experienced the game as a player and has remained committed to developing young talents. His international exposure, grassroots orientation and familiarity with the challenges confronting players provide a compelling platform for leadership.
Nigeria needs an NBBF that can unite stakeholders, strengthen players’ welfare, revitalise domestic competitions, develop coaches and take basketball deeper into schools and communities.
The federation must also reconnect with veterans and former internationals whose experience should become an asset for discovering and mentoring another generation of champions.
This should not be about occupying an office. It should be about restoring basketball’s excitement, credibility and competitive strength.
Nigeria has the talent. The youths are waiting. The stakeholders are watching.
The clock is ticking. The basket is waiting.
Give the ball to Ejike Ugboaja. Let him take Nigerian basketball back to the top.
