The Nigerian Air Force has commissioned a Chief of the Air Staff Special Intervention Project in Adobu Community, Patani Local Government Area of Delta State, as part of efforts to integrate security operations with grassroots development.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
According to the statement, the project was carried out by Air Vice Marshal Ebimbowei Dennis Yinkere (Rtd) under a policy approved by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, encouraging senior officers to contribute to community development nationwide.
“The intervention reflects the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to winning the hearts and minds of the people through people-focused initiatives,” Ejodame said.
The project included the renovation and remodelling of the Adobu Community Town Hall and a free medical outreach aimed at addressing pressing healthcare needs of residents.
The Air Force explained that the upgraded town hall would serve as a hub for civic engagement, community meetings and cultural activities, while strengthening local governance and unity.
The free medical outreach, according to the statement, improved access to healthcare, facilitated early diagnosis of ailments and reduced healthcare costs for families in the community.
Representing the CAS at the event, the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, said the initiative was integral to the NAF’s civil-military relations framework.
He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible intelligence, assuring them of the Air Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
AVM Yinkere (Rtd) thanked the NAF leadership for the opportunity to execute the project, describing it as evidence of effective collaboration between the military, government and local communities.
The event was attended by government representatives, traditional rulers, retired senior officers and other stakeholders.
