IGP Disu Reinforces Tactical Readiness, Officer Welfare at PMF Training Close in Ende Hills
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening leadership capacity, tactical efficiency, and officer welfare, following the successful conclusion of the Squadron Commanders’ Training Programme at the Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State.
The IGP, who attended the closing ceremony on Wednesday described the training as a critical component of ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Nigeria Police Force to effectively respond to evolving security challenges across the country.

During the visit, Disu conducted an inspection of key training facilities, including the simulation ground and shooting range, where he actively participated in tactical drills alongside officers, underscoring the importance of leadership by example in modern policing.

He emphasised that “continuous, scenario-based training remains essential in preparing officers for real-life operational environments, where professionalism, quick decision-making, and discipline are critical.”
Addressing cadets of the Nigeria Police Academy currently undergoing training at the College, the IGP charged them to remain focused and committed to the demands of the profession.

He said, “you must embrace discipline, resilience, and professionalism as core values. The quality of your training will ultimately define your effectiveness, your conduct in the field, and the public trust you earn.”
Disu further stressed the need for strict adherence to human rights principles, noting that operational success must be balanced with respect for the rule of law and protection of citizens.
At the formal closing ceremony, the IGP commended the Squadron Commanders for successfully completing the intensive training programme, urging them to apply the knowledge gained to enhance leadership and operational performance within their respective formations.
“You are expected to translate this training into improved leadership, operational discipline, and tactical efficiency. The Police Mobile Force must remain a highly disciplined, responsive, and dependable tactical arm of the Force,” he said.
The IGP reiterated that strengthening the Police Mobile Force remains central to the Force’s broader security strategy, particularly in addressing violent crimes, internal security threats, and emergency response operations nationwide.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to improving officers’ welfare and ensuring that operational units are adequately equipped to carry out their duties effectively.

“We will continue to prioritise the welfare of our officers and provide the necessary equipment and support required to enhance operational readiness across all formations,” Disu assured.
The visit and closing ceremony highlight the ongoing transformation efforts within the Nigeria Police Force, with a renewed focus on training, professionalism, and operational excellence.
