The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has commended the Chief Executive Officer of Lenders Consult, Dr Shina Phillips, for his professionalism and contribution to the successful organisation of the 2026 Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers, CARSPO.
Disu praised Phillips for ensuring the smooth running and professional presentation of the conference, noting that the programme had so far progressed without hitches.
The IGP also commended Lenders Consult for putting together what he described as an impressive programme, expressing satisfaction with the organisation of the conference and the calibre of experts assembled to engage senior police officers.
Speaking on his experience at CARSPO 2026, Disu described the conference as a “wonderful initiative”, saying his initial concerns about the programme were allayed after witnessing the calibre of lecturers and experts participating in the sessions.
He particularly highlighted the participation of retired senior police officers, including two former Inspectors-General of Police, who shared their experiences and perspectives on national security and preparations for the 2027 general elections.
According to Disu, former Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, drew from his experience during the 2023 general elections to provide participants with insights, solutions and guidance on addressing emerging security and electoral challenges.
The IGP said Baba also encouraged serving police officers to return to their respective communities and replicate the kind of engagement and knowledge-sharing witnessed at CARSPO 2026.
Disu described the lectures delivered at the conference as stimulating, instructive and educative, adding that participating police officers were pleased to be part of the programme.
The conference, which brings together senior police officers and experts, is focused on strengthening policing strategies, operational preparedness and security planning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
