The Nigeria Police Force has intensified preparations for the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA 2026) as the Force Sports Planning Committee held a two-day strategic conference and inspection of sporting facilities in Asaba, Delta State.
The conference, which took place from Friday, January 16 to Saturday, January 17, 2026, was held alongside an extensive inspection tour of venues earmarked for the games, scheduled to run from February 7 to February 14, 2026.
The theme of the games is “Beyond The Badge: Excellence In Action.”
Led by the Chairman of the Force Sports Planning Committee, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Fom Pam Joseph, the exercise was aimed at fine-tuning operational strategies, logistics, and coordination to ensure a successful and hitch-free sporting event.
Senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force were in attendance, including AIG Suleiman Abdul, Commissioner of Police (CP) Dantawaye Miller, CP Hassan Gwani, CP Osifo Emefiele, and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, alongside other members of the Force Sports Planning Committee.
Discussions during the conference focused on critical areas such as venue readiness, security arrangements, accommodation, transportation, medical services, and overall logistics, with emphasis on delivering a professionally coordinated and seamless sporting festival.
Following the conference, the Committee embarked on an on-the-spot assessment of designated sporting facilities across Asaba, evaluating infrastructure quality, safety standards, logistical support, and suitability for athletes and officials expected from police commands and formations nationwide.
The Force Sports Planning Committee reaffirmed its commitment to hosting a safe, orderly, and successful BIPOGA 2026, assuring participants and the general public that preparations are progressing steadily and in line with best practices.
BIPOGA 2026 is
expected to further promote unity, fitness, discipline, and excellence among officers of the Nigeria Police Force, while showcasing sportsmanship beyond the call of duty.
