‎Officers of the FCT Police Command have recorded impressive success at the maiden National Masters Athletes Championship, clinching medals and bringing honour to the Command.

‎The championship, held from May 1 to 3, 2026 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, featured competitors from across the country, with the FCT Police team standing out through disciplined and strong performances.

‎According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the Command’s athletes secured both gold and silver medals in various events.

‎Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ibrahim Aliyu, won a gold medal in the 100 metres event, while ASP Alolade Olanrewaju clinched a silver medal in the discus throw. Similarly, Inspector Elvis Elaigwu secured a silver medal in the triple jump.

‎Commending the officers, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, praised their dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence.

‎He noted that the achievements of the athletes reflect the Command’s broader commitment to professionalism, discipline, and the promotion of physical fitness among personnel.

‎Sanusi added that the success recorded at the championship not only highlights the sporting talents within the Command but also reinforces the importance of maintaining physical and mental fitness in effective policing.
