The Anambra State Police Command received another vote of confidence on Friday as former Inspector-General of Police, RTD. IGP Mike Okiro, mni, and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Chief Simon Okeke, paid a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Awka, reaffirming support for the Command’s efforts to strengthen security and community policing in the state.
The high-profile delegation, which also included Dr Michael Ibeh, former Permanent Secretary of the PSC, was received by the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, alongside members of the Command’s Management Team and other senior officers.
The visit highlighted the need for sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force, community leaders and key stakeholders to advance effective policing, deepen public trust and enhance security across Anambra State.
The Command described the visit as a strong demonstration of public confidence in its ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, intelligence-led policing and community partnership in combating crime and ensuring public safety.
It further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening engagement with critical stakeholders and residents in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police to build a more people-oriented, accountable and responsive Police Force.
