The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 2, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has called for deeper collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Air Force to enhance security operations in Lagos and Ogun states.

‎Jimoh made the call on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Abdul Suleh, at the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja, Lagos.

‎Leading members of his management team, the AIG said inter-agency cooperation remained critical in addressing evolving security threats.

‎He recalled that the strong working relationship between the police and the NAF contributed to effective crime control during his time as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.

‎According to him, both agencies had collaborated extensively in intelligence sharing, surveillance, joint operations, and patrols, resulting in a noticeable decline in criminal activities.

‎Jimoh said the visit was also to seek continued support and partnership from the Air Force, especially as his current role covers Lagos and Ogun states.

‎He added that both institutions had developed mechanisms to promptly resolve issues involving personnel, thereby preventing conflicts and ensuring operational efficiency.

‎The AIG reaffirmed the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to strengthening internal reforms and inter-agency cooperation.

‎In his remarks, the AOC Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Suleh, commended Jimoh’s leadership and professionalism.

‎“He’s an officer who respects those who respect themselves. A true leader. When he was appointed AIG, I said I was going to visit him and today, he is here. I will still pay you that visit AIG,” he said.

‎Suleh added that Jimoh had demonstrated dedication and excellence in service, describing him as “a thoroughbred officer who always gives his best.”

‎He noted that the relationship between the police and the military during Jimoh’s tenure as Lagos CP was exceptional, with potential disputes resolved amicably.
