Police Day: AIG Jimoh Leads Anti-Election Violence Drive, Targets Reckless Driving in Lagos, Ogun
The Nigeria Police Force Zone 2 Command has intensified public sensitisation on electoral violence and road safety as part of activities marking Day 3 of the 2026 National Police Day.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, led the initiative, engaging stakeholders and commercial drivers in awareness campaigns aimed at curbing election-related offences and promoting safe driving practices.

At the sensitisation programme held at the Zonal Headquarters, which drew stakeholders, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and the general public, the AIG stressed the need for collective responsibility in preventing electoral violence, particularly ballot snatching.
The session focused on educating residents of Lagos and Ogun States on the dangers of election violence and the critical roles citizens must play in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

As part of the outreach, the Command also took the campaign to commercial drivers at Obalende Garage in Lagos, where AIG Jimoh underscored their vital role in maintaining public order.
He charged drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and warned against reckless driving, overloading, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

He reiterated that compliance with traffic laws remains key to reducing road crashes and protecting lives and property.
AIG Jimoh commended stakeholders for their support and active participation in the National Police Day activities, noting that such collaboration is essential to achieving lasting public safety outcomes.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Zone 2 Command to sustained public engagement and proactive policing strategies aimed at ensuring the safety and security of residents across Lagos and Ogun States..
