The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned three suspects, George Ali, Anthony Ali and Simon Ali, before the Federal High Court, Abuja, over alleged criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and obtaining by false pretences involving USD 100,000.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, explaining that the suspects were arraigned through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja.
Iniedu said preliminary investigation revealed that the complainant allegedly transferred USD 100,000 to the suspects in 2009 for the purchase and shipment of auto spare parts from the United States of America.
According to him, the transaction was allegedly not executed as agreed, while the funds were subsequently alleged to have been diverted.
He said following investigation by operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja, the three suspects were arraigned before the Federal High Court, Court 6, Maitama, Abuja.
“The Nigeria Police Force, through INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, has arraigned three suspects, George Ali, Anthony Ali and Simon Ali, before the Federal High Court, Abuja, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and obtaining by false pretences involving the sum of USD 100,000,” Iniedu said.
He added that the matter had been adjourned to December 3, 2026, for further hearing.
The Force spokesman said the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to the diligent investigation of financial crimes and other offences, while ensuring that suspects were brought before the appropriate judicial authorities in accordance with the law.
He stressed that the arraignment followed investigation by the relevant police authorities into the allegations surrounding the disputed transaction.
