Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is scheduled to officially flag off the construction of the N59.7 billion Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor on Monday, January 19, 2026. This project, located within the Ika South Local Government Area, represents a significant step in the administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance urban infrastructure throughout the state. According to a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m., with guests expected to be seated an hour prior.
Preliminary construction activities have already begun at the site along the Lagos–Asaba Expressway, as the contracting firm, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has fully mobilized to ensure the project stays on schedule. This proactive start underscores the state government’s focus on the timely delivery of major public works. The Agbor project follows closely on the heels of another major infrastructure milestone—the groundbreaking of the N39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction flyover in Ughelli, which took place just one week ago.
The Uromi Junction Flyover brings the total number of flyover projects currently being executed by the Oborevwori administration to five.
