Air Strike Wipes Out Terrorist Logistics Hub In Borno, Dozens Killed
By Odita Sunday
A precision air strike by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has dealt a major blow to terrorist operations in Borno State, destroying a key logistics hub and neutralising scores of fighters in a coordinated assault on Saturday.
The strike, carried out on April 11, 2026, targeted a known terrorist enclave near the abandoned village of Jilli in Gubio Local Government Area, following sustained intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions over the Bindul–Jilli corridor long identified as a major route for terrorist movements and supply chains.

Military sources said the operation was launched after credible intelligence revealed increased activity along the axis, including the movement of gun trucks and motorcycles believed to be conveying fighters and logistics supplies.
Aerial surveillance confirmed the convergence of multiple terrorist elements at the location, prompting immediate action.

The Theatre Command noted that the strike followed a rigorous targeting process, combining human intelligence with real-time aerial monitoring to ensure accuracy. Fighter aircraft subsequently engaged the target in a series of precision strikes, while surveillance platforms maintained overwatch for battle damage assessment.
Post-strike reports indicate that the logistics base was completely destroyed, with several vehicles and equipment wiped out. Surviving fighters were seen fleeing in disarray, while intelligence sources confirmed that those neutralised were in the final stages of preparing supplies for coordinated attacks on military positions within the Gubio axis.

The development comes amid renewed efforts by troops to dismantle terrorist networks in the North-East, particularly after recent attacks linked to the same logistics chain. In January, an improvised explosive device attack along the Bindul route killed eight soldiers, while fresh assaults were recorded in Ngamdu and Benisheikh earlier this month.
In a related development, troops on Sunday arrested a suspected terrorist logistics courier identified as “Turja Bulu” in Ngamdu. During preliminary interrogation, he reportedly confessed to participating in the April 9 attack on a military formation in Benisheikh and disclosed that he was dispatched from Jilli to deliver supplies to other terrorist cells operating within the Magumeri–Gubio area.

Military authorities said the latest operation has significantly disrupted imminent attack plans and weakened the operational capacity of terrorist elements in the region.
The Joint Task Force reiterated its ban on the use of motorcycles across Borno and Yobe States, describing them as a major tool for terrorist mobility and logistics. It warned that any violations within the operational theatre would be treated as hostile activity.

Operation HADIN KAI assured residents of the North-East of sustained offensives aimed at dismantling all terrorist enclaves and restoring lasting peace and stability to the region.
