The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a pastor, Edwin Nwabueze, and his alleged accomplice, Sadiq Jamiu, over their involvement in an interstate vehicle theft syndicate.
The suspects were arrested in connection with the theft of a Toyota Camry at UTC Plaza, Garki District of Abuja.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the principal suspect was arrested at his residence on October 27, 2026, following sustained investigations.
Adeh said Nwabueze, who hails from Oji River in Enugu State but resides in Benue State, identified himself as a pastor with Salvation Power Bible Ministry in the North Bank area of Benue State.
She said the suspect subsequently led police operatives to another location, where his alleged accomplice, Jamiu, was also apprehended.
According to the police spokesperson, preliminary investigations have linked Nwabueze to previous arrests by the Benue State Police Command over alleged vehicle theft cases.

Further investigations, she said, revealed that the suspects were allegedly members of an interstate vehicle theft syndicate specialising in stealing and selling vehicles across different states.
Adeh added that investigations were ongoing to uncover the full extent of the syndicate’s activities and arrest other members who were still at large.

She said the suspects remained in police custody and would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The police command urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.

Members of the public were also advised to contact the command through its emergency numbers: 08032003913 and 08061581938.
