Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised 44 suspected terrorists and injured 16 others in coordinated intelligence-led operations across Borno State and the Lake Chad area, as the military sustains its offensive against terrorist networks in the North-East.
The operations, conducted on October 26 and 28, 2026, targeted suspected terrorist elements in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State and locations within the Lake Chad area, according to the Theatre Command of Operation Hadin Kai.

According to Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North-East), troops engaged suspected terrorists at separate locations in Kukawa on October 26 following intelligence reports and surveillance observations.
A battle damage assessment indicated that 28 terrorists were neutralised during the engagements, while six others reportedly sustained injuries.
In a separate operation on October 28, the Maritime Component, Naval Base Lake Chad, deployed in Baga, conducted offensive actions against terrorist targets within the Lake Chad area.

Preliminary assessments indicated that eight terrorists were neutralised, while 10 others reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The military also recorded success during an air interdiction mission targeting a suspected terrorist team allegedly preparing to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The operation neutralised eight operatives and destroyed their vehicle, motorcycles and IED materials, preventing the team from proceeding with its planned activity.
The Theatre Command said the operations reflected sustained pressure on terrorist networks through intelligence-led joint military actions aimed at degrading their capabilities and restricting their freedom of movement.

Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to protecting communities across the North-East and sustaining operations against terrorist elements in the region.
The Theatre Command also urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the theatre.
