The Ugboba Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State has announced Saturday, September 12, 2026, for its annual New Yam Traditional Festival, also known as Iwaji-Obi.
The festival is being hosted by His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Ezedimbu Nkebakwu III, and the entire Ugboba Kingdom.
According to the organisers, the celebration will take place at the Obi’s Palace, Ugboba Kingdom, beginning at 1pm.
The traditional festival is expected to bring together members of the community, indigenes, friends and well-wishers to celebrate the new yam season and the cultural heritage of the kingdom.
The monarch and the people of Ugboba Kingdom have invited members of the public to join them for the celebration.
